Christopher D. Burns, MFA

Writer, designer, entrepreneur, dreamer, father, husband, professor, friend, son

I’ve been so busy posting Nikes and Jordans for the sneaker shop, I forgot to post anything here about the outcome of my Kickstarter. Obviously I’ve been working on a new design and that’s because the project was funded! After 4 years of working on ARCH, my baby and brand, I finally get to start the company out at the starting line with the other companies. For four years I’ve been fighting my way out of a hole with every pair of shoes I’ve made. It’s been hard, really hard. If you’ve visited the website, you will see where I basically threw in the towel. But on March 1st the ARCH Lightweight Running Shoe Project funded. 2 weeks later I went into production and this week I completed payment on the shipment. I sent tee shirts to the backers at the tee level and now I’m showing Tumblr a sneak preview of the shoes.

If anybody every tells you that you can’t do something, just smile and show them your work.

I thought about the running shoes that I’ve loved for years and instead of spending a lot of time developing a new design, I simply said, “What would the perfect running shoe look like to me?”
1 part New Balance 574, 1 part Air Max 90, 1 part Saucony Shadow, with the weight of the Puma Faas, insole of the Suacony Kinvara and Nike Free = the CG097 my design for the perfect running shoe.
Premium suede and mesh, and weighing in at 8.9 ounces for a size 9. It’s slightly heavier than the last shoe I designed, but this shoe just looks better to me.
I can’t release this shoe without a little support though. Check out my Kickstarter and share this with your friends. 34 days remaining to fund this venture.
